The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will travel to Reed Green Coliseum to take on the Southern Miss Golden Eagles this Saturday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 15-9 (5-6 C-USA) on the season after being defeated by the FIU Golden Panthers, 75-69, this past Saturday. Louisiana Tech led by a 40-35 margin at halftime, however, struggled offensively in the 2nd half and allowed FIU to pull away late after the Golden Panthers finished the last 3:59 of regulation on a 11-3 run. Louisiana Tech shot 40.0% from the field and 29.6% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Anthony Duruji who had a double-double with 16 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks.

On the season, Louisiana Tech is averaging 73.6 ppg on 44.2% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs are averaging 7.5 three-pointers per game on 32.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Louisiana Tech has been led by DaQuan Bracey (14.2 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.2 spg), Anthony Duruji (12.4 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.3 bpg), Amorie Archibald (10.3 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 3.0 apg), and JaColby Pemberton (10.1 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.3 apg).

Defensively, Louisiana Tech is holding their opponents to an average of 67.9 ppg on 43.0% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs have a rebound margin of 2.1 and a turnover margin of 1.6.

The Southern Miss Golden Eagles won their 3rd straight game and improved to 14-9 (6-5 C-USA) on the season after defeating the FAU Owls, 74-72, this past Saturday. Southern Miss led by a 38-27 margin at halftime, however, needed some clutch FT’s down the stretch to hang on for the victory after the defense struggled in the 2nd half. Southern Miss shot 57.7% from the field and 36.8% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was Cortez Edwards who had 22 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 6 steals.

On the season, Southern Miss is averaging 72.8 ppg on 46.5% shooting from the field. The Golden Eagles are averaging 8.0 three-pointers per game on 36.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Southern Miss has been led by Cortez Edwards (14.0 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 3.6 apg, 2.2 spg), Tyree Griffin (12.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 6.8 apg, 2.0 spg), LaDavius Draine (9.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg), and Leonard Harper-Baker (9.6 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 1.4 apg).

Defensively, Southern Miss is holding their opponents to an average of 64.5 ppg on 39.9% shooting from the field. The Golden Eagles have a rebound margin of -0.2 and a turnover margin of 3.4.

The Bulldogs are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS loss, however, are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Golden Eagles are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games.

Louisiana Tech has lost 4 of their last 6 games and currently rank 163rd in scoring offense, 195th in FG%, and 90th in scoring defense.

Southern Miss has won 6 of their last 8 games and although their offense ranks just 188th in scoring offense, the Golden Eagles have been solid defensively as they currently rank 28th in scoring defense, 22nd in defensive FG%, T-48th in steals per game.

Louisiana Tech has really struggled on the road as of late as the Bulldogs are 0-6 on the road in conference play this season and as I think the Southern Miss defense at home with give the Louisiana Tech offense some trouble, I’m taking the Golden Eagles to cover this small home spread. Good Luck!

Pick:
Southern Miss Golden Eagles -3.5
