Southern Utah Thunderbirds -3 O/U: 145
The Eastern Washington Eagles and the Southern Utah Thunderbirds will match up on the college basketball circuit Thursday.
Eastern Washington enters this game with a 10-15 mark on the year. The Eagles are 2-2 in their last four games, dropping to Montana State and Montana while beating Northern Colorado and Idaho in that span.
In the win over the Vandals, Eastern Washington’s lead scorer was Kim Aiken with 17 points and six rebounds. Mason Peatling added 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Eagles there, and Jesse Hunt Managed 12 points with six rebounds and six assists.
As for Southern Utah, they’re 12-12 this season. After a three-game win streak over Idaho, Weber State and Idaho State, the Thunderbirds have lost their last pair versus Sac State and Portland State.
In the loss to the Vikings, Southern Utah’s Harrison Butler led the way on 16 points with 10 rebounds and two assists. Jacob Calloway added 14 points and four boards for the Thunderbirds in that one as well.
The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the Big Sky. Eastern Washington is 1-4 ATS in their last five Thursday games and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 road games.
Meanwhile, the Thunderbirds are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 16-35-1 ATS in their last 52 games after an ATS loss. The under is 4-1 in Southern Utah’s last five after a straight-up win and the over is 7-2 in their last nine after an ATS win.
Eastern Washington has a pretty good offense, and when they’re on the Eagles score a lot of points—which is a big reason the team has been playing better in the new calendar year.
Southern Utah has been scoring pretty well also, but they’re also pretty permissive on defense. With that in mind, I’m going to take the Eagles on a visiting cover here, even though they’re not great at it ATS lately.
