The Saint Joseph's Hawks and St Bonaventure Bonnies meet Wednesday in college basketball action at the Reilly Center.
The Saint Joseph's Hawks look for a spark of consistency to get a game above a .500 record. The Saint Joseph's Hawks are averaging 71.9 points on 41.8 percent shooting and allowing 72.5 points on 42.9 percent shooting. Charlie Brown Jr. is averaging 20.2 points and 4.8 rebounds while Lamarr Kimble is averaging 16.5 points and 2.6 assists. Jared Bynum is the third double-digit scorer and Taylor Funk is grabbing 5.7 rebounds. The Saint Joseph's Hawks are shooting 33.6 percent from beyond the arc and 72.8 percent from the free throw line. The Saint Joseph's Hawks are allowing 37 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 31.7 rebounds per game. The Saint Joseph's Hawks have lost two of their last three road games.
The St Bonaventure Bonnies need a win here to snap a five-game losing streak. The St Bonaventure Bonnies are averaging 66.4 points on 43.1 percent shooting and allowing 67.4 points on 42.3 percent shooting. Courtney Stockard is averaging 15.8 points and 2.4 assists while Kyle Lofton is averaging 14 points and 2.6 rebounds. Jalen Poyser is the third double-digit scorer and Nelson Kaputo is grabbing 2.8 rebounds. The St Bonaventure Bonnies are shooting 33.5 percent from beyond the arc and 71.6 percent from the free throw line. The St Bonaventure Bonnies are allowing 33.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 30.4 rebounds per game. The St Bonaventure Bonnies have won four of their last five home games.
The Hawks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Wednesday games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Bonnies are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss, 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up loss and 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Hawks are 3-0-1 ATS in the last 4 meetings and the underdog is 5-0-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The under is 12-3-1 in Bonnies last 16 overall. The under is 5-0 in Hawks last 5 overall.
I'm not trying to get behind either one of these teams if we're being honest, especially St Bonaventure when riding a five-game losing streak. However, the Bonnies have been a completely different team at home where they've won four of their last five and are outscoring teams by 16 points on 47.1 percent shooting. The Saint Joseph's Hawks do have scoring issues and are just 5-9 ATS overall this season. This is a case where the oddsmakers probably know something I don't, so I'll lay the bucket with the struggling Bonnies at home.
