St. John's Red Storm -4 O/U: 163.5
The Creighton Bluejays and the St. John’s Red Storm will meet up in college basketball activity on Wednesday.
Creighton comes into this one at 10-7 on the season. The Bluejays have lost their last three consecutive games, falling to Butler 84-69, Marquette 106-104 and Villanova 90-78 in that time.
In the loss to Villanova, Creighton’s top scorer was Ty-Shon Alexander with 22 points, three rebounds and three assists. Martin Krampelj also had a nice night for the Bluejays on 14 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Over on the St. John’s side, they’re currently 14-3 this year. The Red Storm are 2-2 in their last four, beating Marquette and Georgetown before falling to Villanova and DePaul.
In the loss to the Blue Demons, St. John’s top scorer was LJ Figueroa, with 23 points, three rebounds and three assists. Marvin Clark put up a double-double for the Red Storm in that one with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
The Bluejays are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 following a double-digit loss at home and 2-7 ATS in their last nine road games. Creighton is 3-11 ATS in their last 14 following an ATS loss and 1-5 ATS in their last six versus the Big East.
Meanwhile, the Red Storm are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven overall and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine Wednesday games. St. John’s is 6-2-1 ATS in the last nine versus the Big East and the under is 4-1-1 in the last six versus the Big East.
Creighton actually had a 42-38 lead on Villanova heading into halftime, but were pummeled for 52 points by the Wildcats in the second half for a 90-78 loss. Still, that’s two ranked teams in a row that Creighton has stood tall against.
As for St. John’s, they seem to have run out of steam a bit during this tough part of their schedule. I’m going to stick with Creighton on the cover here.
