MAAC college basketball action continues with the Saint Peter’s Peacocks hosting the Manhattan Jaspers.

The Manhattan Jaspers fell to 1-3 in  the MAAC  following  a 65-49 defeat at Monmouth on Saturday as a 5.5 point underdog.

Manhattan scored 21 first half points and trailed by 13 points and never mounted a come back with 29.6% marksmanship and a 16-8 deficit at the line.

Thomas Capuano was the  Jaspers only double digit  scorer with eleven points followed by a nine point effort by Tyler Reynolds.

Samir Stewart and Ebube Ebube gave Manhattan six points apiece with Ebube posting seven rebounds while Tykei Greene added five points and eight rebounds.

The Saint Peter’s Peacocks evened their conference record at 2-2 with a 72-63 defeat of visiting Marist on Sunday as a 1.5 point home favorite.

Saint Peter’s was up four points at the intermission and were outshot 44.9%-40% but turned 25 Marist fouls turned in to a 30-14 advantage at the stripe.

Davauhnte Turner carried the Peacocks with a game high 22 points while Samuel Idowu added 14 points  and nine rebounds.

Saint Peter’s received nine points and four pulls from Quinn Taylor followed by a combined 15 points from Dallas Watson and Manny Dixon.

Manhattan are 15-6 ATS in their last 21 Thursday games and under is 40-19-2 in Manhattan last 61 overall. St. Peter’s  are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games and over is 8-3 in St. Peter’s last 11 home games. Manhattan  are 11-3 ATS in the last 14 meetings and favorite is 13-5 ATS in the last 18 meetings.

I don’t like laying the points with the Peacocks and I don’t like Manhattan with the points either…
