Charlotte 49ers (3-5) at TCU Horned Frogs (8-1)
|Date & Time||Sunday December 23, 2018, 12:30 AM (EST)|
The Line: TCU Horned Frogs -19.5 -- Over/Under: 134.5
The Charlotte 49ers and the TCU Horned Frogs will meet up Saturday on the college basketball court.
Charlotte rolls in here at 3-5 overall. The 49ers have fallen to Chattanooga, James Madison, Davidson, Charleston and Wake Forest this year while beating OK State, Longwood and East Carolina.
In the Pirates game, Charlotte’s top scorer was Jon Davis with 18 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Malik Martin provided 13 points with seven rebounds for the Niners, and Milos Supica added 10 points with eight rebounds.
Over on the TCU side, they’re 8-1 this season. the Frogs’ wins have come against CSUB, Oral Roberts, Fresno State, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, SMU, USC And Indiana State this year.
In the Sycamores game, TCU’s Alex Robinson led the team on 20 points with five assists, and Desmond Bane added 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. Jaylen Fisher (14 points) and Kouat Noi (10 points; eight rebounds) rounded out the double-figures scoring for TCU there.
Charlotte is 10-23 ATS in all their games across the last two seasons and 9-21 ATS as an underdog over the last two seasons. The 49ers are 1-12 ATS in road games on Saturday over the last three seasons, 11-23 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record over the last three seasons, and TCU is 92-135 ATS in Saturday games since 1997.
Charlotte just isn’t a great scoring team. They’ve failed to hit 60 points more often than not this season and have to rely on defense to even hang around in a lot of these games.
TCU has put up a couple of duds this year but otherwise they don’t have that problem. I can’t think of too many reasons not to take the Frogs here, but find the slimmest line you can.
