NCAA BB | Syracuse Orange (21-13) at TCU Horned Frogs (21-11)

The Syracuse Orange square off with the TCU Horned Frogs in a Friday first round college basketball tilt.

The Syracuse Orange survived the Arizona State Sun Devils 60-56 in a First Four matchup on Wednesday. Both teams sank shots at around 40% with Syracuse holding a 13-3 advantage at the charity stripe which was decisive.

Oshae Brissett gave the Orange offense some punch as he poured in a contest high 23 points and hauled in 12 rebounds on 7-15 including 3-8 from distance and 6-11 at the line. Syracuse received 15 points from Tyus Battle on 6-14 while Frank Howard added 12 points and three steals on 4-13.

The Texas Christian Horned Frogs finished 5th in the Big 12 and were knocked out of the conference playoffs with a 66-64 loss to the Kansas State Wildcats in the quarterfinals. Both teams sank shots in the 46% range with Kansas State sinking a few more free throws to win.

Kenrich Williams was the Horned Frogs top weapon as he led all scorers with 20 points and ten rebounds on 8-15. Alex Robinson gave TCU 16 points, four pulls, six assists and three steals on 6-15 along with seven turnovers while Vladimir Brodziansky added 13 points and seven boards on 5-9.

This should be an interesting matchup between the ACC and the Big 12 with both conferences having talent to spare. My problem here is I think the line is about right so I'm going with th points in what should be a competitive game...

Syracuse +4 // line up to +5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
