Texas Tech allowed Texas to fight back from 51-38 2nd half lead to force overtime, however, the Red Raiders were able to pull out the victory after Keenan Evans hit a game-winning jumper as time expired in overtime. Texas Tech held Texas to 36.9% shooting from the field and 37.0% (10-27) shooting from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Red Raiders was Keenan Evans who had 38 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. On the season, Texas Tech is averaing 76.4 ppg on 46.7% shooting from the field. The Red Raiders are averaging 6.9 three-pointers per game on 34.6% shooting from beyond the arc. The TCU Horned Frogs improved to 16-6 (4-5 Big 12) on the season after defeating the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 79-66, this past Tuesday. TCU had no problems putting up points against the Cowboys defense on the road and pulled away in the 2nd half after taking a 59-43 lead with 10:47 left in regulation. TCU shot 55.6% from the field and 66.7% (8-12) from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Horned Frogs was Kenrich Williams who had 13 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. The Red Raiders are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .60 and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games vs. Big 12 opponents. The Horned Frogs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. Big-12 opponents, however are just 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win.
Texas Tech has one of the best defenses in the country as the Red Raiders rank 6th in scoring defense and 8th in defensive FG%, however, it’s been tough for the Red Raiders as of late as they’ve only win 4 of their 7 games with those 4 wins coming by an average of just 3.8 ppg. TCU has won 3 of their last 5 games and have one of the more explosive offenses in the country as the Horned Frogs rank 6th in scoring offense, 11th in FG%, and 15th in 3P-FG%. TCU is 11-2 at home this season, however, as I expect the Red Raiders to be able to slow down the Horned Frogs offense a bit and find their offensive rhythm against TCU’s 288th ranked scoring defense, I’m taking the Red Raiders and the points in this one.
