The 10th ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders will travel to Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena to take on the TCU Horned Frogs this Saturday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The 10th ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders won their 3rd straight game and improved to 18-4 (6-3 Big 12) on the season after defeating the Texas Longhorns, 73-71 in OT, this past Wednesday. Texas Tech allowed Texas to fight back from 51-38 2nd half lead to force overtime, however, the Red Raiders were able to pull out the victory after Keenan Evans hit a game-winning jumper as time expired in overtime. Texas Tech held Texas to 36.9% shooting from the field and 37.0% (10-27) shooting from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Red Raiders was Keenan Evans who had 38 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. On the season, Texas Tech is averaing 76.4 ppg on 46.7% shooting from the field. The Red Raiders are averaging 6.9 three-pointers per game on 34.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Texas Tech has been led by Keenan Evans (18.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.4 apg, 1.2 spg), Jarrett Culver (10.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.4 spg), Zhaire Smith (10.0 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.0 spg, 1.2 bpg), and Niem Stevenson (6.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 1.6 apg). Defensively, Texas Tech is holding their opponents to an average of 62.5 ppg on 39.0% shooting from the field. The Red Raiders have a rebound margin of 5.7 and a turnover margin of 3.5.

The TCU Horned Frogs improved to 16-6 (4-5 Big 12) on the season after defeating the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 79-66, this past Tuesday. TCU had no problems putting up points against the Cowboys defense on the road and pulled away in the 2nd half after taking a 59-43 lead with 10:47 left in regulation. TCU shot 55.6% from the field and 66.7% (8-12) from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Horned Frogs was Kenrich Williams who had 13 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. On the season, TCU is averaging 86.5 ppg on 50.5% shooting from the field. The Horned Frogs are averaging 9.1 three-pointers per game on 41.0% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensviely, TCU has been led by Vladimir Brodziansky (15.1 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.1 apg, 1.7 bpg), Kenrich Williams (14.4 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 4.0 apg, 2.1 spg), Desmond Bane (11.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.4 apg), and Alex Robinson (8.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 6.0 apg). Defensively, TCU is allowing their opponents to average 77.0 ppg on 45.7% shooting from the field. The Horned Frogs have a rebound margin of 7.3 and a turnover margin of 0.5. TCU will be without Jaylen Fisher (12.3 ppg, 5.4 apg) as he is out for the rest of the season due to an injury.

The Red Raiders are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .60 and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games vs. Big 12 opponents. The Horned Frogs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. Big-12 opponents, however are just 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win.

Texas Tech has one of the best defenses in the country as the Red Raiders rank 6th in scoring defense and 8th in defensive FG%, however, it’s been tough for the Red Raiders as of late as they’ve only win 4 of their 7 games with those 4 wins coming by an average of just 3.8 ppg. TCU has won 3 of their last 5 games and have one of the more explosive offenses in the country as the Horned Frogs rank 6th in scoring offense, 11th in FG%, and 15th in 3P-FG%. TCU is 11-2 at home this season, however, as I expect the Red Raiders to be able to slow down the Horned Frogs offense a bit and find their offensive rhythm against TCU’s 288th ranked scoring defense, I’m taking the Red Raiders and the points in this one.

Pick:
Texas Tech Red Raiders +3.5
