The Tulane Green Wave and the Temple Owls meet in AAC college basketball action from the Liacouras Center on Sunday afternoon.

The Tulane Green Wave need a confidence-building win that would snap an ugly 17-game losing streak after a 72-64 loss to Tulsa in their last outing. Caleb Daniels led the Green Wave with 20 points on 9 of 19 shooting with a game-high 10 rebounds along with 3 assists for the double-double while Samir Sehic added 14 points with 9 rebounds as the only other Tulane player to score in double figures in the losing effort. Moses Woof added 5 points with a team-high 4 assists while Kevin Zhang had 8 points and 3 steals. Daniels leads Tulane in scoring with 15.9 points per game while Sehic leads the Green Wave in rebounding with 7.7 rebounds per game and Jordan Cornish leads Tulane in assists with 3.9 assists per game this season. As a team, Tulane is averaging 66.5 points per game on 40.9% shooting from the field, 31.2% from behind the 3-point line and 68.7% from the foul line this season.

The Temple Owls will look to rebound from an 81-73 loss to Memphis in their last outing. Shizz Alston Jr. led the Owls with 22 points along with a team-high 5 assists and a pair of steals while Nate Pierre-Louis added 16 points and J.P. Moorman II had 14 points with 10 rebounds, 3 steals and a pair of blocks for the double-double to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Temple in the losing effort. De’Vondre Perry added 7 points with 9 rebounds and 3 assists as well in the loss. Alston Jr. leads Temple with an average of 19 points and 5.1 assists per game while Ernest Aflakpui leads the Owls in rebounding with 6.9 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Temple is averaging 74.9 points per game on 43.7% shooting from the field, 33.1% from behind the arc and 72.5% from the foul line this season.

Tulane is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 games following a loss. Temple is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 12-5 in their last 17 conference games. The over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.

I’m really tempted to take the points with Tulane here, but the fact is that the Green Wave have been brutal during this losing streak, and being on the road hasn’t helped when you consider that the Green Wave have lost by an average of 15.1 points per game on the road in conference play. Temple hasn’t been strong at home, and I’d probably leave this game along personally, but there’s no backing Tulane at all. Lay the points with Temple if you must play this game.

Temple -17.5
