Temple Owls -2 O/U: 139.5

The Wichita State Shockers and the Temple Owls will meet up in college basketball’s AAC Tournament Friday.

Wichita State enters this one at 18-13 overall this season. The Shockers came into postseason play with a four-game win streak, and kept it going with a win over East Carolina on Thursday in the first round of the tourney.

In the win over the Pirates, the Shockers’ lead scorer was Markis McDuffie with 15 points, three rebounds and two assists. Jaime Echenique added 14 points with nine boards for Wichita State in that one as well.

Temple enters this one at 23-8 overall. The Owls have won their last three straight games, taking out Tulane, Connecticut and UCF in that span of outings.

In the win over UCF, Temple’s top scorer was Levan Shawn Alston with 21 points, six assists and one rebound. Justyn Hamilton added 13 points in that one for the Owls, and Quinton Rose put up 11 points.

Wichita State is 7-2 ATS in their last nine after a straight-up win and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 overall. The Shockers are 11-23-1 ATS in their last 35 neutral-site games and 2-10 ATS in their last 12 Friday games.

Meanwhile, the Owls are 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win and 14-5 ATS in their last 19 neutral-site games. Temple is 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Friday games.

The Owls managed a nice win over UCF 67-62 in their last game, and they stayed consistent in both halves. The troubling part about the victory is that Temple put up fewer than 70 points for the first time in seven games, so take it with a proverbial grain of salt.

With the Shockers on a really nice run, I have to go with Wichita State on the cover here.

Andrew’s Pick Wichita State Shockers +2
