Tennessee State Tigers -1.5 O/U: 146
The Eastern Illinois Panthers and the Tennessee State Tigers will match up on the college basketball court Saturday.
Eastern Illinois is sitting at 14-14 this year. The Panthers have lost five of their last six games, falling to Morehead State, Murray STate, Austin Peay, SEMO and Belmont in that time.
In the loss to the Bruins, Eastern Illinois’ top scorer was Rade Kukobat, with 11 points and two rebounds. The only other Panthers player in double-figures there was Mack Smith with 10 points and five rebounds.
Over on the Tennessee State side, they’re 8-19 this year. The Tigers have lost four straight games, falling to Eastern Kentucky, Belmont, JSU and SIU-Edwardsville in that stretch.
In the loss to SIUE, Donte Fitzpatrick-Dorsey led the way for the Tigers with his 23 points and nine rebounds. Stokley Chaffee added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Tennessee State there, and Kamar McKnight put up 15 points.
The Panthers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight after a straight-up loss and 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss. EIU is 6-2 ATS in the last eight road games and the over is 5-1 in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 overall and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 versus the OVC. Tennessee State is 1-5 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss and 1-5 ATS in their last six Saturday games.
It hasn’t been a good stretch of games for Eastern Illinois, but if there’s a silver lining here it’s that they were scoring pretty well heading into that Belmont game. Prior to that, the Panthers had at least 78 points in five straight.
Conversely, Tennessee State has been less consistent when it comes to points totals, and they had a run of 65 or fewer in three straight. Still, with the line this thin I’m not going to pick a road dog. Give me the Tigers.
