Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles +15.5 O/U: 143.5
The Murray State Racers and the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles will meet up in college basketball action on Saturday.
Murray State comes in here at 16-4 on the year. The Racers have dropped two of their last three games, with a win over Tennessee State sandwiched between losses to Belmont and Jacksonville State.
In the loss to the Gamecocks, Murray State’s top scorer was Temetrius Morant, with 22 points, 11 assists and six rebounds. Tevin Brown added 17 points for the Racers in that one, and Shaq Buchanan posted 10 points of his own.
Over on the Tennessee Tech side, they’re 7-15 this season. The Eagles have lost five of their last six games, dropping to Eastern Illinois, Tennessee State, JSU, Morehead State and Austin Peay in that stretch.
In the loss to the Governors, Tennessee Tech’s top scorers were Jr. Clay and Hunter Vick, each with 14 points alongside a collective seven rebounds and seven assists. Malik Martin added nine points and seven rebounds for the Eagles there.
The Racers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games. Murray State is 16-7 ATS in their last 23 overall and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 versus the OVC.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 6-1 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss and 12-4 ATS in the last 16 versus the OVC. The under is 7-2 in Tennessee Tech’s last nine overall and 11-4 in their last 15 home games.
The Racers really didn’t get close against JSU, falling behind 41-34 at the break and 88-68 at game’s end. That makes 68 points or fewer in two of the last three games for Murray State.
That said, the Racers certainly have the advantage in talent over the Eagles here, as Tennessee Tech will likely struggle to keep up even though they’ll get a home lift. Looking at the line however, it seems just a tad thick for my taste. I’m going to go with the Eagles to sneak in there and cover.
