The Alabama Crimson Tide will travel to Thompson-Boling Arena to take on the Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Alabama Crimson Tide snapped their 2-game losing streak and improved to 11-5 (2-2 SEC) on the season after defeating the Missouri Tigers, 70-60, this past Wednesday. Alabama was solid on the defensive end and was able to pull away for the victory after taking a 61-53 lead with 3:11 left in regulation. Alabama shot 47.3% from the field and outrebounded Missouri by a 37-29 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Crimson Tide was Donta Hall who had 12 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist, and a steal.

On the season, Alabama is averaging 76.5 ppg on 45.2% shooting from the field. The Crimson Tide are averaging 7.3 three-pointers per game on 34.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Alabama has been led by Kira Lewis Jr. (14.4 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 2.8 apg), Donta Hall (11.1 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 2.1 bpg), John Petty (10.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.7 apg), and Dazon Ingram (7.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.7 apg).

Defensively, Alabama is allowing their opponents to average 72.5 ppg on 44.3% shooting from the field. The Crimson Tide has rebound margin of 6.5 and a turnover margin -1.1.

The Tennessee Volunteers won their 11th straight game and improved to 15-1 (4-0 SEC) on the season after defeating the Arkansas Razorbacks, 106-87, this past Tuesday. Tennessee had no trouble putting up points against the Alabama defense and easily cruised to victory after taking a 55-34 lead at halftime. Tennessee shot 52.6% from the field & 61.1% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Volunteers was Grant Williams who had 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and a block.

Offensively, Tennessee has been led by Grant Williams (18.8 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 3.9 apg, 1.1 spg, 1.6 bpg), Admiral Schofield (17.7 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.8 apg), Jordan Bone (13.4 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 6.3 apg), and Lamonte Turner (11.1 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.6 apg, 1.0 spg).

Defensively, Tennessee is holding their opponents to an average of 66.5 ppg on 37.9% shooting from the field. The Volunteers have a rebound margin of 6.4 and a turnover margin of 2.1.

The Crimson Tide are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win, however, are just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Volunteers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS win and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Alabama got back on track after their back-to-back losses to LSU & Texas A&M and has been solid on the offensive end of the court this season as they rank 110th in scoring offense, 162nd in FG%, and 167th in 3P-FG%. Tennessee has clearly established themselves as one of the best teams in all of College Basketball and has been dominant on both sides of the ball this season as they currently rank 8th in scoring offense, 2nd in FG%, and 7th in defensive FG%.

Tennessee has been unbelievable against the spread as of late and has certainly established themselves as one of the best teams in the country, however, this is a bunch of points to cover against one of the few teams in the country that can match the Volunteers athleticism. Alabama has the size to battle Tennessee on the boards and as I think Alabama’s offense will have some success against the Volunteers defense, I’m taking the Crimson Tide and the points.
