Texas-Arlington Mavericks +5.5 O/U: 147
The Georgia Southern Eagles and the Texas-Arlington Mavericks will match up on the college basketball court in the Sun Belt Tournament Saturday.
Texas-Arlington enters this game at 16-15 overall. The Mavericks are on a nice four-game win streak right now, taking out LA-Monroe, South Alabama, Troy and Texas State in that time.
In the win over the Bobcats, UT-Arlington’s lead scorer was Brian Warren with 24 points, four rebounds and four assists. Edric Dennis had a nice game for the Mavericks there as well with 15 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Over on the Georgia Southern side, they’re 21-11 this year. The Eagles dropped to Georgia State 90-85 in their last pre-tournament game, but took out LA-Monroe in the first round Friday.
In the win over the Warhawks, Georgia Southern jumped out to a huge 42-26 lead after the first half and cruised 41-39 the rest of the way for an 81-67 victory and the right to move on to the next round of the tournament.
The Eagles are 4-0 ATS in their last four neutral-site games and 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win. Georgia Southern is 6-2 ATS in their last eight overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 after an ATS win and 8-1 ATS in their last nine Saturday games. Texas-Arlington is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 overall and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 versus the Sun Belt.
UT-Arlington looked pretty good against a good Bobcats team in their last outing, taking the win 81-73. The Mavericks had a bad three-game stretch last month but since they’re looking pretty good in their four straight wins.
That said, Georgia Southern is putting up some really nice points totals these days and I think they can hang here. I’m going Eagles in what should be a fun game.
