Georgetown Hoyas at Texas Longhorns
Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 7:00 PM (Madison Square Garden)
TEX -4 O/U 142.5
Texas has looked very impressive so far on the year. The Longhorns are coming into the game here 4-0 on the year and have not really looked like the defense has been challenged in their wins. However, Texas is going to have their first real test of a big name team in this game against Georgetown. The last game for the Longhorns was a 70-56 win over the Prairie View team.
Matt Coleman III has been able to score 14.5 points a game out of the 69 points a game the Longhorns have been able to get. Jericho Sims has managed to get 7.3 boards per game out of the 34 boards the Longhorns have pulled down on the year.
Georgetown may not be the best team in the NCAA this year, but the Hoyas do have the reputation of being a consistent team. The Hoyas in their last game took it to Georgia State by getting a total of 91 points in the game and allowed only 83 points on the day. The win pushed the Hoyas to a 3-1 mark on the year and the one loss came at the hands of Penn State.
Omer Yurtseven is the leading scorer for the Hoyas with 17 points a game, but the Georgetown team as a whole have been able to get 81.8 points a game on the year. Yurtseven also leads the Hoyas in rebounding with 12.5 boards a game out of the 43.8 the team gets. Defensively the Hoyas are giving up only 77.5 points a game on the year so far.
The Longhorn will be challenged in this game as the Hoyas are coming in with a great talent that can really control the game and set the tempo in Omer. What else does not help the Longhorns out is the fact that their offense is not playing at a level that many would be consider to be a battling offense and that allows the Hoyas to hang into the game and bring home an upset win. Final Score Prediction, Georgetown Hoyas win, but grab the points 76-72.
