The 14th ranked Auburn Tigers will travel to Reed Arena to take on the Texas A&M Aggies this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The 14th ranked Auburn Tigers improved to 12-3 (1-1 SEC) on the season after defeating the Georgia Bulldogs, 93-78, this past Saturday. Auburn was outstanding on the offensive end against the Bulldogs and had no trouble securing the victory after taking a 77-61 lead midway through the 2nd half. Auburn shot 50.0% from the field & 48.0% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Tigers was Jared Harper who had 22 points, 7 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals.

On the season, Auburn is averaging 84.5 ppg on 45.6% shooting from the field. The Tigers are averaging 10.8 three-pointers per game on 35.7% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Auburn has been led by Bryce Brown (15.8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.0 spg), Jared Harper (15.0 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 6.7 apg), Austin Wiley (11.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.9 bpg), and Chuma Okeke (9.9 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.7 spg).

Defensively, Auburn is holding their opponents to an average of 66.5 ppg on 41.6% shooting from the field. The Tigers have a rebound margin of 4.6 and a turnover margin of 6.7.

The Texas A&M Aggies snapped their 3-game losing streak and improved to 7-7 (1-2 SEC) on the season after upsetting the Alabama Crimson Tide, 81-80, this past Saturday. Texas A&M trailed by a 43-32 margin at halftime, however, fought back late in the 2nd half to make it a game and was able to securing the victory on a dramatic TJ Starks three-pointer as time expired. Texas A&M shot 43.8% from the field and committed just 3 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Aggies was Josh Nebo who had 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks.

On the season, Texas A&M is averaging 75.4 ppg on 44.9% shooting from the field. The Aggies are averaging 6.0 three-pointers per game on 28.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Texas A&M has been led by TJ Starks (14.4 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.1 spg), Savion Flagg (12.9 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.0 spg), Wendell Mitchell (9.5 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.1 spg), and Christian Mekowulu (9.5 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.2 bpg).

Defensively, Texas A&M is allowing their opponents to average 72.8 ppg on 40.8% shooting from the field. The Aggies have a rebound margin of 3.4 and a turnover margin of -0.3.

The Tigers are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 road games and just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. SEC opponents. The Aggies are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

Auburn has won 3 of their last 5 games and have been solid on both ends of the court this season as they rank 19th in scoring offense, 62nd in scoring defense, and 68th in rebound margin. Texas A&M has won 6 of their last 9 games and currently rank 141st in scoring offense & 65th in defensive FG%.

Auburn is one of better teams in a very tough SEC conference this season, however, the Tigers have struggled on the road in conference play so far this season, dropping both their road games to NC State & Ole Miss. Texas A&M is going to struggle to be a .500 team in SEC play this season, however, they are coming off a very impressive victory at Alabama and did play a tough non-conference schedule which is a large reason they are just 7-7 overall this season. Texas A&M should have a bunch of confidence after their win agianst the Crimson Tide and as the Tigers offense hasn’t looked great on the road as of late, I think the play here is to go with the home team and the points. Take Texas A&M to cover.

Pick:
Texas A&M Aggies +4
