The LSU Tigers and the Texas A&M Aggies meet in SEC college basketball action from the Reed Arena on Wednesday night.

The LSU Tigers will be looking for another win to push their streak to double-digits after making it 9 in a row with an 86-80 overtime win over Missouri in their last outing. Skylar Mays led LSU with 24 points on 6 of 12 shooting while Naz Reid and Ja’vonte Smart each had 14 points wit Reid adding 8 rebounds while Smart chipped in 6 rebounds and 4 threes. Tremont Waters added 13 points with a team-high 9 assists and 3 steals to round out the group of double-digit scorers for LSU in the winning effort. Waters leads LSU with an average of 14.2 points and 6.2 assists per game while Emmitt Williams leads the Tigers in rebounding with 6.5 rebounds per game this season. As a team, LSU is averaging 83.2 points per game on 48% shooting from the field, 33.8% from behind the arc and 75.6% from the foul line this season.

The Texas A&M Aggies will look to build some steam after snapping a 3-game losing streak with a 65-53 win over Kansas State in their SEC/Big 12 challenge matchup. Wendell Mitchell led A&M with 22 points on 7 of 12 shooting with 4 threes and 4 steals while TJ Starks added 12 points and a team-high 6 assists. Savion Flagg added 11 points along with 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the double-double to finish off the trio of double-digit scorers for the Aggies in the winning effort. Starks leads the Aggies with an average of 12.8 points and 3.7 assists per game while Flagg leads Texas A&M in rebounding with 8.1 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Texas A&M is averaging 72.3 points per game on 44.2% shooting from the field, 29.3% from 3-point range and 68.4% from the foul line this season.

LSU is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the over is 35-17 in their last 52 conference games. Texas A&M is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 conference games. LSU is 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams at Texas A&M.

Texas A&M did a good job shutting a lot of people up (myself included) with their strong defensive performance in their win against Kansas State. However, LSU is a whole different challenge right now as the Tigers are rolling and have to be feeling confident after rallying from 14 points down with 2:14 to go in the game to force overtime and then take down Missouri on the road to keep their streak in tact. I think the Tigers are just on another level right now, so I’ll lay the points with LSU in this one.

LSU -6
