Texas State Bobcats -8 O/U: 146.5
The Appalachian State Mountaineers and the Texas State Bobcats will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday.
App State enters this one with an 8-14 record so far. The Mountaineers have won their last three straight games, taking out Little Rock, Louisiana and LA-Monroe during that stretch of outings.
In the win over the Warhawks, Appalachian State’s Justin Forrest led the way on 32 points with three rebounds and an assist. Isaac Johnson had a solid line for the Mountaineers in that one as well with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Over on the Texas State side, they’re 17-5 this year. After a five-game win streak, the Bobcats have lost their last two versus GA Southern and TX-Arlington.
In the 2OT loss to the Mavericks, Texas State’s Nijal Pearson led the team on 15 points with seven rebounds. Jaylen Shead added 13 points for the Bobcats there and Eric Terry doubled up on 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Appalachian State is 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 after an ATS loss and 9-23 ATS in their last 32 after a straight-up win. The Mountaineers are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games and the over is 4-1 in their last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Bobcats are 4-0 ATS in their last four Thursday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss. Texas State is 6-13 ATS in their last 19 home games and the over is 4-1 in their last five overall.
The Mountaineers have looked pretty solid in their last three games, posting at least 77 points in each and even hanging 104 on the Ragin’ Cajuns. App State hasn’t exactly faced primo competition in that span, but hey.
The Bobcats have had a couple of duds in the last month or so, but overall they’re still a potentially dangerous team and should play well here. Still, I like the Mountaineers to hang around here and cover.
