Michigan State Spartans -2-5 O/U: 132.5
The Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Michigan State Spartans will meet up in the NCAA Tournament’s Final Four in college basketball action on Saturday.
Texas Tech has rolled through the tournament with four straight wins, taking out Northern Kentucky, Buffalo, Michigan and Gonzaga on their way to the Final Four round.
In the victory over the Bulldogs, Texas Tech’s Jarrett Culver topped the team on 19 points with five rebounds and two assists. Adding 17 points and five assists for the Raiders was Matt Mooney, and Davide Moretti chipped in 12 points.
Over on the Michigan State side, they haven’t lost a game since March 2 (Indiana) and since have won the Big Ten Tournament and beaten Bradley, Minnesota, LSU and Duke in the NCAA Tournament.
In the upset over the Blue Devils, Michigan State’s top scorer was Cassius Winston with 20 points and 10 rebounds on a double-double. Xavier Tillman almost reached that mark (19 points; nine rebounds) for the Spartans in that one as did Kenny Goins (10 points; nine rebounds).
Texas Tech is 6-0 ATS in their last six Saturday games and 5-0 ATS in their last five versus the Big Ten. The Raiders are also 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS win and 13-3 ATS in their last 16 overall.
Meanwhile, the Spartans are 5-1 ATS in their last six neutral-site games and 4-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games. Michigan State is 26-9 ATS in their last 35 overall and 14-5 in their last 19 after an ATS win.
If there were any doubters on Texas Tech left after their huge 63-44 win over Michigan, those people are gone after the 75-69 win over Gonzaga. The Red Raiders are playing with purpose in this NCAA Tournament, and it seems the 79-74 upset loss to West Virginia in the conference tournament galvanized the team.
Michigan State is a different animal however; they’re on a nice nine-game win streak and just annihilated a ton of brackets with their win over Duke. This should be a great matchup, but I think Tech is a charmed team right now and can eke out a cover (or a win).
