The TCU Horned Frogs will travel to United Supermarkets Arena to take on the 14th ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders this Monday night in College Basketball action.

The TCU Horned Frogs won their 2nd straight game and improved to 15-4 (3-3 Big 12) on the season after defeating the Florida Gators 55-50, this past Saturday. TCU allowed Florida to fight back from a 16-point deficit late in the 1st half to tie the game at 36-all with 12:23 left in regulation, however, the Horned Frogs we’re outstanding defensively down the stretch and was able to hold off the Gators for the victory. TCU held Florida to just 30.6% shooting from the field and 29.6% shooting from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Horned Frogs was  Kouat Noi who had 22 points & 6 rebounds.

On the season, TCU is averaging 76.9 ppg on 47.2% shooting from the field. The Horned Frogs are averaging 7.7 three-pointers per game on 35.0% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, TCU has been led by Desmond Bane (15.0 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.1 spg), Kouat Noi (14.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.2 spg), Alex Robinson (12.9 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 7.7 apg, 1.7 spg), and JD Miller (10.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.1 apg).

Defensively, TCU is holding their opponents to an average of 66.0 ppg on 40.5% shooting from the field. The Horned Frogs have a rebound margin of 4.7 and a turnover margin of 0.7.

The 14th ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders snapped their 3-game losing streak and improved to 16-4 (4-3 Big 12) on the season after defeating the Arkansas Razorbacks, 67-64, this past Saturday. Texas Tech allowed Arkansas to keep this one close as they committed 21 turnovers in the game, however, the Red Raiders had a solid night shooting the basketball and held off a late Razorbacks run after taking a 60-48 lead with 7:37 left in regulation. Texas Tech shot 51.2% from the field and 52.6% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Red Raiders was Davide Moretti who had 21 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.

On the season, Texas Tech is averaging 70.1 ppg on 46.8% shooting from the field. The Red Raiders are averaging 6.1 three-pointers per game on 34.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Texas Tech has been led by Jarrett Culver (18.5 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 3.9 apg, 1.4 spg), Davide Moretti (10.4 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.3 spg), Matt Mooney (10.3 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.7 spg), and Tariq Owens (8.0 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.0 apg, 2.5 bpg).

Defensively, Texas Tech is holding their opponents to an average of 56.4 ppg on 35.7% shooting from the field. The Red Raiders have a rebound margin of 2.3 and a turnover margin of 2.9.

The Horned Frogs are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games following an ATS win and 12-3 ATS in their last 15 games overall. The Red Raiders are 8-21-2 ATS in their last 31 games overall and just 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games.

TCU has won 3 of their last 4 games and has been solid on both ends of the floor this season as they currently rank 92nd in scoring offense, 60th in FG%, and 42nd in scoring defense. The Red Raiders have been struggling a bit as of late and sometimes can struggle scoring the basketball as they are ranked just 260th in scoring offense, however, Texas Tech has one of the best defenses in the country as they rank 2nd in scoring defense & 1st in defensive FG%.

TCU is a great team, however, they have struggled a bit on the road as the Horned Frogs are 0-3 on the road in conference play this season and as I think the Red Raiders defense is going to make it very difficult for the TCU offense to put up points in this one, I’m taking Texas Tech to cover this small spread at home. Good Luck!

Pick:
Texas Tech Red Raiders -4.5
