The TCU Horned Frogs and the Texas Longhorns meet in Big 12 college basketball action from the Frank Erwin Special Events Center on Saturday afternoon.

The TCU Horned Frogs will be out to snap a 3-game losing streak as well as losses in 6 of their last 7 games following a 64-52 loss to Kansas State last time out. Kevin Samuel led the Horned Frogs with 17 points on 8 of 11 shooting with a team-high 7 rebounds, a pair of steals and a pair of blocks while RJ Nembhard added 12 points as the only other TCU player to score in double figures in the losing effort. Alex Robinson added 7 points with a team-high 6 assists as well in the loss. Desmond Bane was also held to just 7 points but still leads TCU in scoring with 14.6 points per game while Samuel leads the Horned Frogs in rebounding with 7.1 rebounds per game and Robinson leads TCU in assists with 7 assists per game this season. As a team, TCU is averaging 74.7 points per game on 45.5% shooting from the field, 34.5% from behind the arc and 69% from the foul line this season.

The Texas Longhorns will look to bounce back after losing 3 of their last 4 games following a 70-51 loss to Texas Tech in their last outing. Matt Coleman III led the ‘Horns with 16 points on 6 of 15 shooting while Elijah Mitrou-Long added 11 points as the only other double-digit scorer for Texas in the losing effort. Dylan Osetkowski and Jericho Sims each had 5 rebounds to lead the team in the loss. Osetkowski still leads Texas with an average of 10.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while Coleman III leads the Longhorns in assists with 3.7 assists per game this season. As a team, Texas is averaging 71.7 points per game on 43.8% shooting from the field, 34.4% from behind the arc and 71% from the foul line this season.

TCU is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the under is 8-2 in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record. Texas is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 7-2 in their last 9 games following a loss. TCU is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams but are just 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams at Texas.

TCU getting this many points is tempting considering how much success the Horned Frogs have had in this matchup recently. However, TCU does their best work at home and haven’t been that great of a road team this season. Texas has been solid at home this season and with both teams on the bubble and TCU falling apart at the worst possible time, I don’t see TCU having the energy to keep up with the Longhorns at home in this game. I’ll lay the points with Texas here.
