Toledo Rockets +2.5
The Buffalo Bulls and the Toledo Rockets will meet up on the college basketball court Friday.
Buffalo is sitting at 21-3 on the year. After starting out February with a 92-88 loss to Bowling Green, the Bulls have won their last pair versus Central Michigan Saturday and Akron on Tuesday.
In the win over the Zips, Buffalo’s CJ Massinburg led the way on 21 points, four rebounds and two assists. Dontay Caruthers added 15 points, and Davonta Jordan posted 12 points with five boards for the Bulls there.
Over on the Toledo side, they’re 20-4 this season. The Rockets are sitting on a five-game win streak right now, taking out Central Michigan, Miami OH, Northern Illinois, Akron and Bowling Green in that time.
In the win over the Falcons, Toledo’s Chris Darrington led the way on 20 points with four rebounds. Nate Navigato added 14 points for the Rockets there, and Jaelan Sanford doubled up with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bulls are 2-6 ATS in their last eight overall and 2-6 ATS in their last eight versus the MAC. Buffalo is 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games.
Meanwhile, the Rockets are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four overall and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four versus the MAC. Toledo is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS win and 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games.
Buffalo hasn’t quite been so dominant as they once were lately, and with two losses in the last six games things aren’t quite looking perfect for the Bulls. Still, Buffalo drilled Toledo 110-80 the last time these teams met up back on January 8.
Will the home lift make that much of a difference for Toledo? It’ll certainly help to keep the score down, but if the Bulls can break out early and establish themselves it’ll be hard for the Rockets to keep up if they’re not on their game. With a relatively thin line here, I’m going to stick with Buffalo on the cover even though the current trends say otherwise.
