Wednesday non-conference college basketball pits the Big Red against the Towson Tigers.

The Cornell Big Red are shooting for back to back wins after upending sub-division Johnson & Wales on Friday night. Cornell was in complete control with a 17 point lead at the break behind 47.6% accuracy.

Matt Morgan led a balanced Big Red offense with 13 points, six rebounds and three steals followed by Jimmy Boeheim with 13 points.

Riley Voss and Thurston McCarty gave Cornell ten points apiece while Joel Davis chipped in with seven points, three yanks and four boards.

The Towson Tigers need a change in momentum after a 67-61 loss to UNC-Wilmington on Saturday as a two point home favorite.

Towson fell behind by eight at the intermission and traded baskets over the second half but the offense was done in by 36.5% shooting.

Brian Fobbs kept the Tigers competitive with a contest high 17 points with seven rebounds on 8-15 from the field while Solomon Uyaelunmo and Tobias Howard netted eleven points each with Uyaelunmo hauling in nine rebounds.

Nakye Sanders gave Towson another ten points followed by Dennis Tunstall with six points and six boards.

Cornell Big Red are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games and Cornell Big Red are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall and Cornell Big Red are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games. Towson Tigers are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 non-conference games and Towson Tigers are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 home games.

This is a dangerous game for Towson which should be won but I’ll go with the points in a close one…

Pick:
Cornell +3

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
