Towson Tigers -5.5 O/U: 136.5
The Elon Phoenix and the Towson Tigers will meet up on the college basketball circuit on Saturday.
Elon comes into this matchup at 10-20 on the year. The Phoenix are 2-1 over their last three outings, with a loss to Charleston sandwiched between wins over UNCW and James Madison.
In the win over the Dukes, Elon’s Steven Santa Ana led the team with 20 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Also in double-figures for the Phoenix there were Tyler Seibring (18 points; five assists) and Sheldon Eberhardt (15 points).
Over on the Towson side, they’re 10-20 this year as well. The Tigers are 1-4 in their last five games, taking out Drexel and otherwise falling to Delaware, Hofstra, Northeastern and William & Mary.
In the loss to the Tribe, Towson’s Brian Fobbs led the team with 22 points and six rebounds. The only other Tigers player in double-figures in that game was Tobias Howard with 13 points and three rebounds.
The Phoenix are 6-15 ATS in their last 21 versus a team with a losing straight-up record and 7-19 ATS in their last 26 after an ATS win. Elon is 5-23 ATS in their last 28 after a straight-up win and the under is 6-2 in their last eight road games.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus the CAA. Towson is 4-13 ATS in their last 17 Saturday games and 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss.
Looking at Elon’s last six games, they’re 2-4, and though the two wins came by seven and 15 points, they haven’t really been close in any of their four losses—eight points versus Northeastern was the tightest one.
Towson has had a couple of scoring lulls over their last two games, but prior to that they had been putting up points at a pretty good clip. I like the Tigers to bang out a cover in this one.
