Troy Trojans -5 O/U: 135
The Texas State Bobcats and the Troy Trojans will meet up on the college basketball circuit Thursday.
Texas State comes into this one at 22-6 on the year. The Bobcats have won five of their last six games, taking out App State, Coastal Carolina, Arkansas State, Little Rock and Louisiana in that time.
In the win over the Cajuns, Texas State’s Tre’Larenz Nottingham led the way on 17 points with five rebounds and one assist. Eric Terry and Nijal Pearson each had 13 points for the Bobcats as well, with a combined five assists and 13 rebounds.
Over on the Troy side, they’re 11-15 this season. Following a win over Arkansas State, the Trojans have lost their last three straight versus Georgia State, Georgia Southern and South Alabama.
In the loss to the Jags, Troy’s Alex Hicks led the team with 21 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double. The only other Trojans player in double-figures there was Javan Johnson with 13 points and three boards.
The Bobcats are 6-2 ATS in the last eight after a straight-up win and 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 road games. Texas State is 5-2 ATS in the last seven Thursday games and the under is 5-1 in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, the Trojans are 9-28-1 ATS in their last 38 Thursday games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine home games. Troy is 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight overall and 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight versus the Sun Belt.
Texas State has been getting the job done in the win column lately, but that’s not to say they haven’t produced several nail-biters on the scoreboard. The Bobcats’ last two games have been decided by three points or fewer.
Still, Troy just hasn’t looked very good over their last three games, and I don’t think the Bobcats will have a whole lot of trouble here. I’m going Texas State.
