The Temple Owls will travel to Devlin Fieldhouse to take on the Tulane Green Wave this Saturday night in College Basketball action.

The Temple Owls lost their 2nd straight game an dropped to 15-6 (5-3 AAC) on the season after being defeated by the 13th ranked Houston Cougars, 73-66, this past Thursday. Temple struggled offensively agianst the Cougars defensively and couldn’t fight back after Houston took a 67-57 lead with 2:04 left in regulation. Temple shot just 34.3% from the field and 29.6% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Owls was Quinton Rose who had 26 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assits, and a steal.

On the season, Temple is averaging 74.9 ppg on 43.9% shooting from the field. The Owls are averaging 7.4 three-pointers per game on 32.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Temple has been led by Shizz Alston Jr. (17.9 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 5.0 apg, 1.7 spg), Quinton Rose (17.5 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 2.7 apg, 2.3 spg), Nate Pierre-Louis (13.7 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.8 spg), and Ernest Aflakpui (6.5 ppg, 7.2 rpg).

Defensively, Temple is allowing their opponents to average 71.0 ppg on 45.1% shooting from the field. The Owls have a rebound margin of -2.1 and a turnover margin of 3.7.

The Tulane Green Wave lost their 10th straight game and dropped to 4-16 (0-8 AAC) on the season after being defeated by the East Carolina Pirates, 66-65, this past Thursday. Tulane led by a 33-29 margin at halftime, however, struggled offensively in the 2nd half and couldn’t fight back after East Carolina took a 60-54 lead with 3:02 left in regulation. Tulane shot just 31.6% from beyond the arc and lost the turnover battle by a 16-7 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Green Wave was Caleb Daniels who had 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

On the season, Tulane is averaging 67.0 ppg on 42.3% shooting from the field. The Green Wave is averaging 6.4 three-pointers per game on 31.1% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Tulane has been led by Caleb Daniels (15.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.9 apg), Samir Sehic (11.1 ppg, 7.8 rpg), Jordan Cornish (11.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 4.1 apg), and Shakwon Barrett (6.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.7 apg).

Defensively, Tulane is allowing their opponents to average 75.4 ppg on 43.5% shooting from the field. The Green Wave has a rebound margin of -1.0 and a turnover margin of -4.6.

The Owls are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 10-2-1 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. The Green Wave are 19-39-3 ATS in their last 61 home games and just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games.

Temple has won 5 of their last 8 games and has had a balanced team this season as they currently rank 139th in scoring offense, 169th in scoring defense, and 24th in turnover margin. Tulane has really struggled this season and currently rank just 315th in scoring offense, 281st in FG%, and 269th in scoring defense.

Temple is a solid team with a winning road record this season (5-3) and as I just don’t see how Tulane will be able to challenge the Owls on either end of the court, I think Temple will be able to do enough to cover this double-digit road spread. Good Luck!

Pick:
Temple Owls -10.5
