The Line: Tulane Green Wave -5.5 -- Over/Under: 139
The Towson Tigers and the Tulane Green Wave will meet up in college basketball activity on Friday.
Towson limps in here at 3-7 on the season. The Tigers have thus far fallen to Virginia, Pepperdine, Florida Atlantic, ND State, Vermont, george Washington and Morgan State, but they did win their last outing versus UMBC.
In the Retrievers game, Towson’s Brian Fobbs put up 32 points with seven rebounds, and Dennis Tunstall led the boards on 15 rebounds and six points. Nakye Sanders chipped in 13 points and seven rebounds for the Tigers.
Over on the Tulane side, they’re 4-6 this season. The Wave’s victories this season have come courtesy of Coastal Carolina, SD State, Tennessee-Martin and Texas Southern so far.
In the Tigers game, Tulane’s Samir Sehic led the charge with a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. Caleb Daniels also had a nice game for the Wave with 21 points, five rebounds and two assists there.
Towson is 19-8 ATS in their last 27 Friday games and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 non-conference games. The Tigers are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 overall and 0-6 ATS in their last six neutral-site games.
Meanwhile, the Wave are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 versus the CAA and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 Friday games. Tulane is 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven non-conference games.
Towson was on a pretty ugly skid for most of the year, but for the most part they were at least somewhat competitive in those games and not grossly overmatched on the court.
As for Tulane, they’ve generally been competitive as well, but haven’t yet developed consistency in winning some of these close games.
I don’t think that will be a problem here, however. I’m going with the Wave.
