Tulane Green Wave +9.5 O/U: 143
The Wichita State Shockers and the Tulane Green Wave will match up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
Wichita State is currently 16-13 on the year. The Shockers have won their last three straight games, taking out Connecticut, SMU and East Carolina during that run of outings.
In the win over East Carolina, Wichita State’s lead scorer was Markis McDuffie with 16 points, five rebounds and three assists. Dexter Dennis (10 points; eight rebounds) and Asbjorn Midtgaard (11 points) also finished in double-figures for the Shockers there.
Over on the Tulane side, they’re just 4-25 this season. The Green Wave are in the middle of a pretty ugly losing streak (their last win was back on December 17), and they fell to South Florida in their last game Wednesday.
In that one, Tulane’s top score was Caleb Daniels on 20 points, six rebounds and seven assists. Connor Crabtree and Samir Sehic each scored 19 points for the Wave in that one, with a combined nine rebounds.
The Shockers are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS win. Wichita State is 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 overall and 5-12 ATS in their last 17 Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Wave are 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win and 2-6 ATS in their last eight Saturday games. The over is 4-1 in Tulane’s last five overall and 4-1 in their last five after a straight-up loss.
Wichita State had a bad run of games early in the calendar year, losing seven of eight at one point. Since then, the Shockers have recorded a nice 8-2 record, falling only to Cincinnati and Memphis.
Given that kind of momentum—and the momentum on the opposite end of the spectrum from Tulane—I have to go with the Shockers to keep it going and cover here.
