NCAA BB | Wichita State Shockers (14-2) at Tulsa Golden Hurricane (10-7)

Over at Reynolds Center on Saturday, the Wichita State Shockers and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane will be meeting up in college basketball activity.

Wichita State comes into this one with a 14-2 record. The Shockers have won their last six games, taking out East Carolina in their last game. In that one, Wichita State center Rauno Nurger put up 14 points.

Heading up the scoring for the Shockers this year is Landry Shamet with 15.8 PPG and 5.1 APG, and Shaquille Morris is second on 12.2 PPG. Also in double-digits for Wichita State this year are Conner Frankamp (11.5 PPG) and Darral Willis (11.4 PPG; 6.6 RPG).

Over on the Tulsa side, they’re sitting at 10-7 this year. The Hurricane have lost their last two outings to Memphis and Houston. In the Houston game, Tulsa’s Martins Igbanu put up 27 points.

Tops in scoring for Tulsa this year is Junior Eton with 16.2 PPG and 6.9 RPG, and Sterling Taplin is second on 11.5 PPG and 4.5 RPG with 3.8 APG. DaQuan Jeffries is the only other Hurricane player in double-digits with 10.1 PPG.

The Shockers are 4-1 ATS in the last five versus the American Athletic and 47-22-1 ATS in their last 70 road games. The over is 4-0 in Wichita State’s last four games following an ATS win and the under is 4-1 in the last five road games.

Meanwhile, Tulsa is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games and 5-1 ATS in the last 16 versus the AAC. The Hurricane is also 2-5 ATS in their last seven Saturday games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 following an ATS loss.

After a bad loss to Oklahoma, Wichita State has been trouncing the (lesser) competition over their last six games. The Shockers aren’t an overwhelming team, but they’ve got quite a bit of depth. As for Tulsa, they got drilled by a good Houston team in their last outing 104-71, and I can envision a similar outcome here. I’ll take the Shockers.

Wichita State Shockers -11.5
