The Troy Trojans go on the road to face the UALR Trojans in Sun Belt college basketball action.

The Troy Trojans evened their conference record at 1-1 with an 89-85 victory against Appalachian State as a six point home favorite on Saturday.

Troy burned the nets at 55.2% but the Mountaineers stayed close throughout with 40.5% accuracy and 16 more looks at the basket.

Jordan Varnado led the big offense of the Trojans with 27 points, eight rebounds and six helpers while Alex Hicks added 16 points and another eight boards. 

Troy received 13 points, four pulls and eight assists from Darian Adams followed by Javan Johnson and Malik Burnett with a combined 20 points.

The Arkansas Little Rock Trojans are off to an 0-3 start In the Sun Belt after falling at UL Lafayette 75-61 on Saturday as an 8.5 point underdog.

UALR was in the game in the first half but slowly faded away with 23 turnovers leading to 14 more Ragin’ Cajuns shot attempts.

Nikola Maric kept the Trojans competitive for awhile with 36 points and nine rebounds on 11-16 marksmanship and 9-13 at the line.

Markquis Nowell gave Arkansas Little Rock 14 points, six boards and three assists on 4-14 shooting and 4-6 at the line but nobody else scored more then three points.
