The UC Riverside Highlanders lost their 5th straight game and dropped to 9-22 (3-12 Big West) on the season after being defeated by the Long Beach State 49ers, 70-57, this past Wednesday. UC Riverside struggled defensively agianst Long Beach State and couldn’t fight back after a 10-0 49ers run gave Long Beach State a 61-45 lead with 7:32 left in regulation. UC Riverside allowed Long Beach State to shoot 49.1% from the field and 50.0% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Highlanders was Callum McRae who had 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists.
On the season, UC Riverside is averaging 65.7 ppg on 44.5% shooting from the field. The Highlanders are averaging 8.5 three-pointers per game on 37.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, UC Riverside has been led by Dikymbe Martin (15.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.8 apg), Menno Dijkstra (7.9 ppg, 3.8 rpg), Ajani Kennedy (7.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.0 apg), and Callum McRae (7.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg).

UC Davis led by a 36-25 margin at halftime, however, had no answers for the Hawaii offense in the 2nd half and couldn’t fight back after the Rainbow Warriors took a 65-58 lead with 4:36 left in regulation. UC Davis shot just 23.1% from beyond the arc and was outrebounded by the Rainbow Warriors by a 35-27 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Aggies was TJ Shorts II who had 26 points, 4 assists, 1 rebound, and 2 steals.
On the season, UC Davis is averaging 65.4 ppg on 43.3% shooting from the field. The Aggies are averaging 6.7 three-pointers per game on 32.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, UC Davis has been led by TJ Shorts II (14.6 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.6 spg), Siler Schneider (10.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.0 spg), Joe Mooney (9.8 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 1.1 apg), and Stefan Gonzalez (7.3 ppg, 3.6 rpg).

The Highlanders are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games following an ATS loss and just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Aggies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss, however, are just 5-13 ATS in their last 18 home games.
UC Riverside lost 9 of their last 10 games and currently rank 322nd in scoring offense, 177th in FG%, and 123rd in scoring defense.
UC Davis has lost 4 of their last 5 games and although the Aggies defense has been solid keeping opponents off the scoreboard as they rank just 92nd in scoring defense, the Aggies offense has struggled this season as they currently rank just 326th in scoring offense and 236th in FG%.
UC Davis has had a disappointing season as their offense has really had trouble finding ways to put points up on the board, however, UC Davis had one of their best offensive performances of the season against the Highlanders earlier this season in an 84-71 win on the road. UC Riverside is just 5-6 ATS at home this season and between the fact that the Highlanders have lost their last 4 games against the Aggies and that I’m concerning that the UC Riverside offense will find success on the road, I’m taking UC Davis to cover this large home spread. Good Luck!
