UC Irvine Anteaters -8 O/U: 132
The Cal State Fullerton Titans and the UC Irvine Anteaters will meet up on the college basketball court in the Big West Tournament Saturday.
Cal State Fullerton enters this one with a 16-16 mark overall. The Titans took out UC Davis in the opening round of the tournament on Thursday, then dispatched UCSB 64-58 on Friday to move on.
In the win over the Gauchos, Cal State Fullerton’s top scorer was Khalil Ahmad with 28 points and six rebounds. Kyle Allman also logged double-digit points for the Titans with 12 and four rebounds in that one.
Over on the UC Irvine side, they’re 29-5 this season overall. So far in the tournament, the Anteaters have dispatched UC Riverside 63-44 on Thursday and Long Beach State 75-67 on Friday.
In the win over the 49ers, UC Irvine’s top scorer was Robert Cartwright with 17 points and two rebounds. Max Hazzard added 14 points with five boards for the Anteaters in that one, and Evan Leonard had 13 points.
The Titans are 2-6 ATS in their last eight after a straight-up win and 3-11 ATS in their last 14 versus a team with a winning straight-up record. The under is 4-0 in CSF’s last four versus a team with a winning straight-up record and 4-1 in their last five Saturday games.
Meanwhile, UC Irvine is 3-0-1 ATS in their last four Saturday games and 8-1-1 ATS in their last 10 overall. The Anteaters are 8-1-1 ATS in their last 10 versus the Big West and 4-11 ATS in their last 15 neutral-site games.
UC Irvine ran into a bit of trouble against the 49ers on Friday, falling behind 33-27 at halftime. The Anteaters did bounce back in the second half however, rolling 48-34 the rest of the way toward a 75-67 win.
That result was a little weird for the Anteaters, as they’ve been putting teams away by some pretty large margins lately. Hopefully this will keep UC Irvine focused, as I think they can bounce back and cover fairly easily here. I’m going with the Anteaters.
