UC Riverside Highlanders +5.5 O/U: 139
The Cal State Fullerton Titans and the UC Riverside Highlanders will meet up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
Cal State Fullerton enters this matchup with a 9-13 mark on the season. The Titans had a nice five-game win streak going, but dropped their most recent outing versus UC Irvine on Wednesday.
In the loss to the Anteaters, Cal State Fullerton’s Khalil Ahmad led the team on 22 points with six rebounds and one assist. Jackson Rowe was the only other Titan in double-figures there with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Over on the UC Riverside end, they’re 8-16 this year. The Highlanders have dropped their last three straight games, falling to UC Irvine, Cal Poly and UC Davis in that time.
In the loss to the Aggies, UC Riverside’s Jordan Gilliam came in with 15 points, six rebounds and two assists to lead the team. Also in double-figures for the Highlanders there were Dikymbe Martin (13 points) and Menno Dijkstra (10 points).
CSF is 5-11 ATS in their last 16 overall and 3-7 ATS in the last 10 road games. The Titans are 2-7 ATS in their last nine after an ATS loss and 1-7 ATS in their last eight after a straight-up loss.
Meanwhile, the Highlanders are 13-4-2 ATS in their last 19 after a straight-up loss and 1-3-1 ATS in the last five after an ATS loss. UC Riverside is 8-4 ATS in their last 13 versus the Big West and the over is 4-0 in their last four Saturday games.
The Titans put up a valiant effort against the Anteaters, but were squashed by a 42-32 deficit in the second half that spoiled any chance of an upset in an eventual 60-53 loss for CSF.
Still, the Titans have put up a nice string of games lately. Will it be enough to topple UC Riverside at home? With the points totals the Titans have been putting up lately, I’m going to say yes. I’ll take CSF here.
