The Line: UC Riverside Highlanders +9.5 -- Over/Under: 127
The Loyola Marymount Lions and the UC Riverside Highlanders will meet up in college basketball action on Saturday.
LMU comes in here at 11-1 on the season. The Lions have so far taken out UNLV, CSUN, Georgetown, Ohio, Central CT St., Florida A&M, Bethesda, CSUF, Portland State and Boise State.
In the Broncos game, Loyola Marymount’s James Batemon put up 30 points with four assists and three boards to lead the team, and Joe Quintana was the only other Lion in double-figures with 17 points, two rebounds and two assists.
Over on the Highlanders’ side, they’re currently 4-8 on the year. UC Riverside’s victories have come against UC Merced, Elon, Pepperdine and Life Pacific College.
In the Warriors game, UC Riverside’s only player in double-figures was Colin Cunniff, with 17 points on the night. It was a pretty balanced evening otherwise, with eight total players scoring all the Highlanders’ points.
LMU is 7-1 ATS in their last eight road games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven versus the Big West. The Lions are also 5-1 ATS in their last six games following an ATS loss and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 overall.
Meanwhile, the Highlanders are 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the West Coast and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six Saturday games. UC Riverside is 1-11 ATS in their last 12 following a straight-up win and the under is 4-0 in their last four Saturday games.
Just five guys did the entirety of LMU’s scoring against Boise State, which is a little weird but hey, it worked, and it kept the Lions’ magical season going.
Though Loyola Marymount plays down to their competition sometimes, I don’t think they’ll have a whole lot of difficulty here. I’m going Lions on the cover.
