College basketball action in the Big West pits the Cal State Northridge Matadors against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos.

The Cal State Northridge Matadors followed a three game winning streak with two losses to end the year following an 86-74 defeat at UC Irvine.

Lamine Diane was the best player on the floor with 33 points and 18 rebounds with the Matadors getting 14 points and seven boards from Darius Brown II.

Northridge saw eleven points from Michael Ou before he fouled out after 22 minutes while Rodney Henderson Jr. and Cameron Gottfried chipped in with four points each.

The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos surged to wins in four of five following a 92-82 victory at the Cal Poly Mustangs as an eight point favorite.

Amadou Sow was the Gauchos top weapon with 23 points and three yanks followed by Max Heidegger with a 16 point performance.

Santa Barbara received 13 points and 17 rebounds from Ar’Mond Davis while Devearl Ramsey and Jaquori McLaughlin combined for 20 points.

Cal State Northridge Matadors are 18-7-2 ATS in their last 27 games overall and  are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up loss and  are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 neutral site games.

UCSB Gauchos are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 neutral site games and  are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games after scoring more than 90 points in their previous game and  are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up win.

Under is 8-1-1 in the last 10 meetings and favorite is 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings.

The Gauchos are clearly the better team but the Matadors have been competitive in two meetings…
