The South Florida Bulls will travel to CFE Arena to take on the UCF Knights this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The South Florida Bulls won their 5th straight game and improved to 17-6 (7-4 AAC) on the season after defeating the East Carolina Pirates, 72-68 in OT, this past Sunday. South Florida fought back from a 39-28 halftime deficit to force OT and was able to put the game away later after a pair of David Collins FT’s with :06 seconds left in OT gave the Bulls a 4-point lead. South Florida shot 42.0% from the field and outrebounded East Carolina by a 46-22 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Bulls was David Collins who had 21 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal.

On the season, South Florida is averaging 73.2 ppg on 43.8% shooting from the field. The Bulls are averaging 6.8 three-pointers per game on 34.1% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, South Florida has been led by David Collins (15.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 2.5 apg, 2.3 spg), LaQuincy Rideau (13.9 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 5.8 apg, 3.0 spg), Alexis Yetna (13.0 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 1.1 apg, 1.0 spg), and Justin Brown (8.3 ppg, 2.6 rpg).

Defensively, South Florida is holding their opponents to an average of 65.6 ppg on 40.7% shooting from the field. The Bulls have a rebound margin of 6.9 and are averaging 8.8 steals per game.

The UCF Knights improved to 17-5 (7-3 AAC) on the season after defeating the SMU Mustangs, 71-65, this past Sunday. UCF was solid on both ends of the court against SMU and held a steady lead throughout the 2nd half after the Knights went into halftime with a 36-28 lead. UCF shot 52.0% from the field while holding SMU to just 39.7% shooting from the field and 27.0% shooting from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Knights was Aubrey Dawkins who had 26 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, and a steal.

On the season, UCF is averaging 73.2 ppg on 46.8% shooting from the field. The Knights are averaging 6.8 three-pointers per game on 34.7% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, UCF has been led by B.J. Taylor (16.7 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.0 spg), Aubrey Dawkins (15.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.0 spg), Tacko Fall (9.9 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 2.6 bpg), and Terrell Allen (6.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 4.0 apg, 1.4 spg).

Defensively, UCF is holding their opponents to an average of 64.5 ppg on 39.5% shooting from the field. The Knights have a rebound margin of 1.3 and a turnover margin of 1.1.

The Bulls are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 road games and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Knights are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 Wednesday games, however, are just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

South Florida has won 6 of their last 9 games and has been led by their defense that ranks 43rd in scoring defense, 41st in defensive FG%, and 14th in steals per game.

UCF has won 7 of their last 10 games and similar to the Bulls, have been led by their defense that ranks 28th in scoring defense, 16th in defensive FG%, and 29th in blocks per game.

UCF has won the last 6 games in this series, however, South Florida is a much better team than we’ve seen in recent years and although they couldn’t pick up wins at Temple or Cincinnati, they were competitive in both games. UCF is the better team here, however, they don’t have a lot of scoring options outside of B.J. Taylor & Aubrey Dawkins, and as I think the Bulls defense will be able to keep this one close, I’m taking South Florida and the points in this one.

Pick:
South Florida Bulls +6.5
