|Date & Time||Wednesday December 5, 2018, 8:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: UIC Flames PK -- Over/Under: 154.5
The Illinois State Redbirds and the UIC Flames will meet up in college basketball action on Wednesday.
Illinois State comes into this one at 6-3 on the year. The Redbirds have taken out FGCU, Chicago State, Akron, Boise State, Lindenwood and BYU but have fallen to Belmont, Georgia and San Diego State.
In the Aztecs game, Illinois State’s Phil Fayne and Milik Yarbrough each posted a team-high 16 points, while Yarbrough doubled up on 13 rebounds as well. Josh Jefferson chipped in 14 points for the Redbirds there.
Over on the UIC side, they’re 3-5 this year. The Flames have beaten William & Mary, Bradley and UW-Parkside but dropped games to Notre Dame, Radford, Duquesne, Saint Joseph’s and Loyola IL.
In the Ramblers game, UIC’s lead scorer was Marcus Ottey with 20 points, three assists and two rebounds. Jordan Blount nearly tallied a double-double for the Flames on 11 rebounds, nine points and five assists.
Illinois State is 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games following a straight-up loss and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 versus the Horizon League. The Redbirds are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 road games and the under is 4-1 in their last five versus the Horizon League.
Meanwhile, UIC is 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss. The over is 7-2 in the Flames’ last nine following a straight-up loss and 7-2 in their last nine following an ATS loss.
Illinois State isn’t exactly blowing the doors off their opponents this year, but they’ve tallied a few decent wins in something of an unbalanced campaign so far. UIC is in the same boat, but hasn’t been all that impressive overall. I’m going to stick with the Redbirds on the win here, but realistically I’m staying away because it should be close.
