Sunday Atlantic Ten college basketball pits the Rhode Island Rams against the UMass Minutemen.

The Rhode Island Rams have won three in a row after slipping by VCU 71-65 as a 1.5 point home favorite on Wednesday night.

Rhode Island was down four points heading to the half before a 50-40 second half run secured the win behind 41% shooting and ten more shots.

The balanced Rams offense saw Fatts Russell toss in 19 points and log six pulls with Jeff Dowtin adding 14 points and three yanks.

Tyrese Martin gave Rhode Island 12 points and seven rebounds followed by Cyrik Langevine and Jermaine Harris with a combined 18 points and 13 rebounds.

The UMass Minutemen have fallen on hard times with seven consecutive losses capped off by a 65-51 defeat to St. Bonaventure on Wednesday.

UMass was down just two points at the break but were overwhelmed 40-28 over the final 20 minutes with just 35.3% shooting to lean on.

Kieran Hayward gave the Minutemen 12 points in 16 minutes off the bench with Luwane Pipkins adding another 12 points and five helpers.

Massachusetts received eight points from Keon Clergeot while Djery Baptiste and Curtis Cobb chipped in with six and five points.

Rhode Island Rams are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and  are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Atlantic 10 and  are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games.
