The Fresno State Bulldogs and the UNLV Rebels meet in Mountain West conference college basketball action from the Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Fresno State Bulldogs will look to rebound after an 82-81 loss to Utah State in their last outing. Braxton Huggins led the Bulldogs with 26 points on 8 of 16 shooting with 3 threes and a 7 of 7 mark from the foul line along with a team-high 6 rebounds while Deshon Taylor added 17 points with 3 threes and Sam Bittner added 13 points with 3 threes and a pair of steals to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Fresno State in the loss. Noah Blackwell added 9 points with a team-high 4 assists as well in the losing effort for the Bulldogs. Huggins leads Fresno State in scoring with 18.1 points per game while Blackwell leads the Bulldogs in assists with 4.2 assists per game and Nate Grimes leads Fresno State in rebounding with 9.2 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Fresno State is averaging 76.6 points per game on 45.6% shooting from the field, 37.5% from behind the 3-point line and 72% from the foul line this season.
The UNLV Rebels will look to build some momentum after snapping a 3-game losing streak with an 83-72 win over Boise State in their last outing. Noah Robotham led the Rebels with 21 points on 6 of 8 shooting with 5 threes and a team-high 10 assists while Kris Clyburn added 17 points and Amauri Hardy chipped in 15 points. Nick Blair added 14 points with 3 threes and a team-high 7 rebounds to round out the quartet of double-digit scorers for UNLV in the win. Clyburn leads UNLV in scoring with 13.7 points per game while Robotham leads the Rebels in assists with 4.9 assists per game and Joel Ntambwe leads UNLV in rebounding with 5.9 rebounds per game this season. As a team, UNLV is averaging 75.5 points per game on 42.9% shooting from the field, 35.4% from behind the arc and 68.1% from the foul line this season.

The Rebels did a good job shutting me up against Boise State as UNLV not only won as the dog, but won handily at that. With that said, UNLV is still one of my more profitable fade plays in the Mountain West as we’ve cashed fading them more often than not and I think this line is a steal as Fresno State is one of the best teams in the Mountain West, has had success on the road lately and have owned the Rebels in this matchup.
