|Date & Time||Saturday November 10, 2018, 10:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: UNLV Rebels -4 -- Over/Under:
The Loyola Marymount Lions and UNLV Rebels meet Saturday in college basketball action at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The Loyola Marymount Lions look for a statement victory after beating up on Westcliff in their season opener. The Loyola Marymount Lions are averaging 75 points on 43.5 percent shooting and allowing 43 points on 31.9 percent shooting. James Batemon is averaging 11 points and four rebounds while Jeffery McClendon is averaging 10 points and one assist. Donald Gipson is the third double-digit scorer and Mattias Markusson is grabbing six rebounds. The Loyola Marymount Lions are shooting 35.7 percent from beyond the arc and 69.6 percent from the free throw line. The Loyola Marymount Lions are allowing 20.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45 rebounds per game. The Loyola Marymount Lions have lost nine of their last 10 road games.
The UNLV Rebels are coming off a 20-win season and finished the year losing six of their last seven games. UNLV lost some of its depth from a year ago but does return a double-double machine in Shakur Juiston, who averaged 14.6 points and 10 rebounds on 63.9 percent shooting. Tervell Beck returns after averaging 7.3 points and 2.4 rebounds while Kris Clyburn averaged 7.3 points and 1.5 assists. UNLV has enough returning to be a very interesting team in the MWC this season, and that’s without mentioning 4-star recruit Bryce Hamilton, who had offers from Arizona State and Ohio State, and he should be instant contributor with his athletic ability. UNLV will be a team to watch closely, as there’s real potential with this squad. The UNLV Rebels have won four of their last six home games.
The Lions are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 road games, 18-7-4 ATS in their last 29 Saturday games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Runnin' Rebels are 7-16-1 ATS in their last 24 Saturday games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games and 5-16-2 ATS in their last 23 games overall. The under is 7-3 in Runnin' Rebels last 10 overall and the under is 5-1 in Lions last 6 road games.
The UNLV Rebels have a team they should be excited about this season, and they should look to make a statement against a Loyola Marymount Lions squad that's had issues on the road. I'm rather high on UNLV this season and will be looking to back them whenever I can get a low line. Give me the home team and the reasonable chalk.
