NCAA BB | Nevada Wolf Pack (22-5) at Utah State Aggies (14-13)

The Nevada Wolf Pack visit the upset minded Utah State Aggies in a MWC college basketball bout on Saturday.

The Nevada Wolf Pack sit atop the Mountain West with a two game lead but the team can’t afford to coast the rest of the way with too much season remaining. Nevada comes off of a 77-72 win at Boise State where a 48.3%-40% shooting edge overcame 12 more Broncos shots.

The twosome of Caleb Martin and Kendall Stephens were the go to scorers for the Wolf Pack with a contest high 21 points each. Jordan Caroline gave Nevada 13 points and ten rebounds with Cody Martin adding eleven points and seven boards.

The Utah State Aggies are in the bottom half  of the Mountain West but might be a team to watch in the playoffs with wins against several of the better teams in the conference. Utah State comes off of  a 78-63 defeat at New Mexico where the offense held a 51.3%-46.2% shooting edge but 23 turnovers led to 26 more Lobos shots.

Sam Merrill exploded for a game high 33 points for the Aggies on 11-16 from the floor including 7-8 from beyond the arc. Utah State saw ten points and six boards from Koby McEwan while Diogo Brito added nine points and seven rebounds.

Nevada  are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games and Nevada are 23-11-2 ATS in their last 36 games overall. Under is 12-4-1 in Utah State last 17 Saturday games and over is 39-18 in Utah State last 57 home games.

Nevada is the far better squad but after an emotional win versus Boise State I’m leaning to the points…

Utah State +6.5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
