Utah State Aggies -12 O/U: 149
The New Mexico Lobos and the Utah State Aggies will match up on the college basketball circuit in the Mountain West Tournament Thursday.
Over on the New Mexico side, they’re 14-17 overall this year. The Lobos fell to Wyoming 88-81 on March 9 but then kicked off the tournament with a 78-68 victory over the Cowboys on Wednesday.
In that Wednesday win, Vance Jackson led the Lobos with his 26 points, eight reboudns, five assists and four steals. Makuach Maluach helped out New Mexico in that one with 13 points, three rebounds and one assists.
Utah State enters this game with a 25-6 mark overall. The Aggies are currently on a seven-game win streak, taking out Wyoming, Air Force, New Mexico, Boise State, San Diego State, Nevada and Colorado State in that time.
In the win over the Rams, Utah State’s top scorer was Sam Merrill with 38 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Quinn Taylor helped out the Aggies in that one with 18 points and six rebounds as well.
The over is 4-1 in the Aggies’ last five Thursday games and they’re 5-1 ATS in their last six overall. Utah State is 5-1 ATS in their last six after scoring more than 90 points in their previous game and they’re 4-1 ATS in their last five as a favorite.
Meanwhile, the Lobos are 1-4 ATS in their last five Thursday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five as an underdog. The over is 9-4 in New Mexico’s last 13 Thursday games and they're 1-4 ATS in their last five as an underdog.
The Aggies are on a really nice run right now, and they’ve been scoring quite well also. Utah State has put up at least 70 points in each of their last seven games, and with the win over Nevada on March 2 they showed they can hang with just about anybody in the country if they’re on their game.
I’m getting on the Utah State bandwagon right now, and I don’t feel like there’s much they can’t do. I’ll go Aggies here.
