USC fought back from a 62-53 deficit in the 2nd half to force overtime, however, the Trojans offense struggled in the extra period and couldn’t fight back after UCLA took an 87-85 lead with just 3:47 left in OT. USC shot just 39.5% from the field and was outrebounded by the Bruins by a 55-44 margin in the loss. Utah struggled offensively on the road against the Buffaloes and couldn’t fight back after Colorado took a 59-46 lead with 5:22 left in regulation. The Trojans are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games, however, just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Utes are 46-20-3 ATS in their last 69 home games vs. a team with a losing road record, however, just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 home games.
USC has lost 5 of their last 7 games and although their offense has been solid as they rank 78th in scoring offense, 101st in FG%, and 25th in 3P-FG%, the Trojans have had trouble keeping opponents off the scoreboard as they rank just 212th in scoring defense.
Utah has lost 3 of their last 4 games and come into this game ranked T-106th in scoring offense, 67th in FG%, and 257th in scoring defense.
Utah was able to defeat USC on the road earlier this season in a 77-70 margin, however, I haven’t been that impressed with what I’ve seen from the Utes as of late and it’s also a concerning fact that Utah has lost 3 of their last 4 home games. USC has struggled this season, however, this is an offense that I think will have more success against Utah than what we saw in their first match-up and as I expect this game to be a high scoring, close game, I’m taking USC and the points and probably will put something small on the over. Good Luck!
