UTEP Miners -5 O/U: 121.5
The Charlotte 49ers will meet the UTEP Miners in college basketball activity on Saturday.
Charlotte enters this matchup at 5-14 on the season. Charlotte had a run of three games where they went 2-1 this month, but since then the 49ers have lost to Old Dominion and UTSA in consecutive games.
In the loss to the Roadrunners, Charlotte’s Jon Davis was the lead scorer on the team—and the only one in double-figures—with 12 points, two rebounds and two assists.
Over on the UTEP side, they’re 6-12 this season. Since taking out Rice on January 12, the Miners have fallen to UAB, Middle Tennessee and Old Dominion over their last three outings.
In the loss to the Monarchs, UTEP’s Efe Odigie was the team’s lead scorer and rebounder, doubling up on 13 points and 12 boards. Nigel Hawkins also chipped in with eight points for the Miners in that low-scoring game.
Charlotte is 6-0 ATS in the last six Saturday games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Niners are also 6-1 ATS in their last seven versus CUSA and 17-37 ATS in their last 54 road games.
Meanwhile, the Miners are 1-7 ATS in their last eight versus CUSA and 1-6 ATS in their last seven overall. UTEP is 17-8 ATS in the last 25 Saturday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss.
Charlotte isn’t going to put up very many points in the majority of their outings, so don’t expect a 70-point (like against Old Dominion) or an 84-point (like against Marshall) outburst here.
UTEP’s not much for putting up points either, so this should be a 60-something to 60-something game at best. All things considered, I like Charlotte (who has been pretty good ATS lately) just a hair better here, but it’s probably one to stay away from.
