The Rice Owls go on the road to battle the UTEP Miners in a Saturday college basketball tilt.

The Rice Owls look for more offense after suffering a 60-41 defeat at the hands of Florida Atlantic as a five point underdog.

The long season is nearing the end for Rice with the team in the bottom third of the CUSA because their defense has given up too many points overall at 78 per game.

Chris Mullins was the Owls only double digit scorer with ten points followed by Ako Adams who tossed in ten points and snagged five boards.

Robert Martin gave Rice eight points and five pulls while Josh Parrish added four points and seven rebounds with ten points coming from  the rest of the team.

The UTEP Miners come off of a 77-47 loss to Southern Mississippi a week ago as a nine point underdog on the road.

UTEP is next to last in the conference with a few games remaining in the regular season with too many struggles scoring the basketball to blame.

Nigel Hawkins led the Miners attack with 15 points followed by Gilles Dekoninck with another eleven points and seven rebounds.

Efe  Odigie gave  Texas  El Paso  ten  points and  14 points  buy seven other players managed only eleven more points.

Rice Owls are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 Saturday games and Rice Owls are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up loss.

UTEP Miners are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a ATS loss and UTEP Miners are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games.

Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and Rice Owls are 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Texas-El Paso.

I see no difference in these teams so I’d rather take the points and cross my fingers…

Rice +2.5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
