The Old Dominion Monarchs and the UTSA Roadrunners will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday.

Old Dominion sits at 22-6 on the season so far. The Monarchs are riding a six-game win streak right now, taking out North Texas, Rice, UAB, Middle Tennessee, Charlotte and Western Kentucky in that span.

In the win over the Hilltoppers, Old Dominion’s lead scorer was Xavier Green on 22 points with three assists. BJ Stith added 18 points and five boards for the Monarchs, and Ahmad Caver logged 13 points with five assists.

Over on the UTSA side, they’re 15-12 this year. Following a three-game win streak over Marshall, FIU and FL Atlantic, the Roadrunners have lost their last two versus Southern Miss and LA Tech.

In the loss to the Bulldogs, UTSA’s top scorer was Jhivvan Jackson on 22 points, three assists and two rebounds. Keaton Wallace added 20 points for the Roadrunners there, and Byron Frohnen doubled up with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

The Monarchs are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 overall and 5-12 ATS in their last 17 versus CUSA. Old Dominion is 6-20 ATS in their last 26 Thursday games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games.

Meanwhile, the Roadrunners are 26-9-1 ATS in their last 36 home games and 14-5 ATS in their last 19 overall. UTSA is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 after an ATS loss and 18-8 ATS in their last 26 versus CUSA.

The last time these teams met up, we had a 74-73 UTSA victory. Since then, Old Dominion has been playing pretty darn well and they’ll be keyed up for some pushback here.

This has got all the makings of a very close game, but I’m going to stick with the Monarchs on the cover here as the Roadrunners haven’t been playing up to their potential in the last pair. In reality I’m staying away, but I’ll go with ODU.

Old Dominion Monarchs +1
