MVC college basketball action continues with the Drake Bulldogs visiting the Valparaiso Crusaders.
The Drake Bulldogs are eyeing a 4thstraight victory following a 78-66 win against Evansville on Wednesday as a 6.5 point home favorite.
This was just a four point lead for Drake at the intermission before pulling away late to win comfortably behind 52.5% shooting.
Nick McGlynn paced the Bulldogs with 20 points and ten rebounds while DJ Wilkins added eleven points and seven boards.
Tremell Murphy and Garrett Sturtz gave Drake another eleven points apiece with Murphy posting six pulls with Noah Thomas netted ten points and added five yanks.
The Valparaiso Crusaders began MVC play at 4-0 but have dropped two of three after a 70-53 defeat ay Indiana State on Wednesday as a 2.5 point underdog.
Valparaiso struggled offensively with only 21 first half points and never found the groove with 42.2% shooting and 13 turnovers.
Markus Golder was the Crusaders top option with 14 points and three yanks followed by Derrik Smits with another 14 points and three pulls.
Deion Lavender gave Valpo ten points and seven rebounds while the duo of Javon Freeman and John Kiser tossed in six points each and a combined seven boards.
Drake Bulldogs are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Missouri Valley and are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and are 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall. Valparaiso Crusaders are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 home games and are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games.
This should be close throughout but I’ll go with my better team theory…
