 Monday college basketball gives us the VCU Rams hosting the Bowling Green Falcons.

The Bowling Green Falcons fell to 1-1 on the season after an 84-80 defeat at St. John’s as an 18.5 point underdog. Bowling Green shot the ball well at 50% but the Red Storm hit at 46.2% with 15 more looks at the basket which was the deciding factor.

Justin Turner kept the Falcons alive with 24 points on 9-17 including 4-7 on three pointers while Dylan Frye netted 18 points on 7-13 shooting with four long balls and six turnovers. 

Antwon Lillard gave BGSU 13 points and four pulls on 3-6 and five turnovers followed by Demajeo Wiggins added 12 points and 12 rebounds on 1-4 from the floor and another five TO.

The VCU Rams are gunning for their third consecutive victory to kick off the year following a 69-57 win against visiting Hampton. VCU led 35-19 heading to the locker room before trading baskets the rest of the way behind a 42.6%-29% shooting advantage. 

Marcus Santos-Silva topped the Rams offense with 16 points on 8-9 marksmanship followed by Marcus Evans with 13 points and five boards on 3-8 from the field. Issac Vann and Sean Mobley gave VCU seven points each and a combined seven pulls with seven others also reaching the scoring column.

BGSU are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall and BGSU are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 Monday games and over is 6-2 in BGSU last 8 overall. Under is 6-2 in VCU last 8 non-conference games and VCU are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 Monday games and under is 9-4 in VCU last 13 home games.

Bowling Green looks like a team that should not be overlooked so I’ll back the points…
