Big East postseason college basketball action pits the Xavier Musketeers against the Villanova Wildcats in the semifinals.

The Xavier Musketeers squeezed by the Creighton Bluejays 63-61 on Thursday afternoon as a three point underdog in the Big East quarterfinals.

The Musketeers saw Zach Johnson lead all scorers with 22 points and three yanks followed by Naji Marshall with eleven points and three pulls.

Xavier received another ten points from Kyle Castin while Paul Scruggs and Quentin Goodwin netted nine points and eight points respectively.

The Villanova Wildcats are heading the Big East semifinals after dispatching the Providence Friars on Thursday afternoon in a game they led throughout.

Eric Paschall paced the Wildcats with a contest high 20 points and ten rebounds while Collin Gillespie netted 19 points and handed out six assists.

Phil Booth chipped in with 13 points and three yanks followed by Jermaine Samuels and Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree with eight points each and a combined 17 rebounds.

Xavier Musketeers are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and  are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. Big East and  are 20-8-2 ATS in their last 30 neutral site games.

Villanova Wildcats are 36-16 ATS in their last 52 neutral site games and  are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 vs. Big East and  are 46-22 ATS in their last 68 games overall.

Villanova has been the money maker in this series but the Musketeers have been a cover machine for weeks…
