USA TODAY Sports

On Saturday from John Paul Jones Arena, the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Virginia Cavaliers will be meeting up in college basketball action.

Virginia Tech enters this game with a 17-7 record overall. The Hokies have won four of their last five games, taking out NC State on Wednesday. In that game, Virginia Tech guard Justin Robinson managed 32 points.

Heading up the scoring for the Hokies on the year is Justin Bibbs (13.8 PPG) and Robinson is second on 13.6 PPG and 5.6 APG. Also in double-digits for Virginia Tech are Ahmed Hill (13.3 PPG), Kerry Blackshear (13.3 PPG; 6.0 RPG) and Nickeil Alexander-Walker (11.4 PPG).

Over on the Virginia side, they’re currently 23-1 on the year. The Cavaliers haven’t lost since December 5, and most recently took out Florida State. In that Seminoles game, Virginia’s Devon Hall put up 17 points.

Kyle Guy is the top Virginia scorer on 15.4 PPG, and Hall is second with 12.3 PPG, 4.1 RPG and 3.1 APG. Close to that margin is Ty Jerome, who has 9.8 PPG and 3.7 APG to his credit this season.

The Hokies are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the ACC. Virginia Tech is also 5-2 ATS in their last seven following an ATS win and 1-5 ATS in their last six Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 versus the ACC and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 home games. Virginia is also 21-6-1 ATS in their last 28 games following an ATS win and 47-23-3 ATS in the last 73 Saturday games.

Virginia Tech has put up at least 80 points in eight of their last nine games, so they’ve been scoring pretty well. Virginia, meanwhile, hasn’t hit 60 points in either of their last two, but have allowed just 99 points in that time as well. All things considered, I’ll take Virginia Tech to cover here.

Pick:
Virginia Tech Hokies +13
